Trending Luxury Kitchen Designs

Luxury kitchen trends and designs never stay the same for long. This year you’ll find plenty of intriguing new trends to inspire you as you plan your next remodel.

With your kitchen being one of the most important and valuable spaces in your home, consider incorporating some of these luxury trends into your new design:

High tech appliances for “smart kitchens”

You can’t go wrong adding high tech appliances to your luxury kitchen. The latest kitchen designs almost always feature one or more of them. High tech appliances get a bit of extra attention when it comes to their design and sleekness compared to standard appliances.

As a result, they fit nicely into modern luxury kitchens. They’re also loaded with features to make your life easier. Smart refrigerators have features like LCD touchscreen operation or coffee/tea brewers built in. WiFi coffee machines respond to your smartphone and brew on demand.

The latest high-tech ranges have tablet control panels and internet connectivity so that they can be controlled from anywhere. The list goes on, and putting multiple high-tech appliances together will give you a certified “smart kitchen” that you can brag about.

Quartz remains a top countertop material for luxury kitchens

Quartz remains one of the more highly preferred materials for luxury kitchen countertops because of its incredible versatility and potential for customization. As a highly durable material, it will last for years with basic maintenance and can stand up to just about anything you spill on it.

Choosing quartz gives you virtually limitless options for colors and patterns. The material is engineered from a combination of 5% resins and 95% natural ground quartz. You get a lot more freedom with your luxury kitchen design, whether you want a neutral tone or something a little outside the norm.

Granite is the main competitor to quartz, but it has far fewer color options since it’s a 100% natural material and has a few extra maintenance steps. The specific advantages and disadvantages of each option is a more detailed discussion for another blog, but with similar price tags you can’t go wrong with either choice.

Large kitchen islands

The latest kitchen islands aren’t the tiny meal prep areas that they used to be. They’re massive attention-grabbing centerpieces with several useful features.

Kitchen islands in 2017 have larger storage spaces than ever before, with built-in appliances like beverage coolers or induction cooktops. Add venting to make it more of a functional second cooking area.

It’s both wise from an investment standpoint and aesthetically pleasing to seamlessly blend your island with the rest of your kitchen’s layout. If you upgrade your island and your overall kitchen at the same time, it will be easy to do this.

When it comes to large luxury kitchen islands, you’ll find some truly elaborate and massive options that are fully decked out with multiple appliances and seating for 5 people. Less imposing islands are available of course.

If you have the space in your kitchen, take advantage of it and consider adding a new island to your list of must-haves. It will serve you well during the time you spend in your home and offers plenty of ROI once you sell.
